The beg bug alters her course, heading toward the open kitchen door.

"Easy there, Penelope. Remember what your Mom taught you last week when you were just a wee nymph, Always stay close to the baseboards where they can't see you!"

The bed bug heads straight for the wall's path and stops short.

BED BUG

"What's this?! I've never seen this strange, white powdery stuff on the floor before."
She reaches out her snout for a little sniff.

BED BUG

“Doesn’t smell dangerous, mostly like old shellfish, but it is blocking my path…”

Her stomach rumbles loudly.

BED BUG

“That settles it. No time to go back around the long way. How dangerous can some dust be? I’ll just run through it really fast and be on my way.”

She scurries through the powder. Small particles cling to her legs, body, and face.

“See? Nothing to be worried about! Hi ho, hi ho, it’s off to eat some blood, we goo…

It’s just sticking into my belly like too many tiny daggers… Now I’m feeling tired...and SO thirsty. I could drink an entire tub of wa---"
