Vampires Really DO Exist!
Vampires are real, and they aren’t as big as you think! They are tiny apple seed-sized creatures known as ‘bed bugs’!
Vampires of folklore and the genuine bed bug have much more in common than we often think. These ‘creatures of the night’ spend most of the daytime hiding. As soon as night falls and their poor unsuspecting victim is sound asleep, they come out from hiding to feed. Feeding gives vampires and bed bugs a fuller or bloated appearance, the blood adding a darker coloring to the bed bug.
Bed bugs use their senses to detect the carbon dioxide we exhale to determine that an unsuspecting victim is nearby. Once a victim’s presence is detected, bed bugs will track the location using their body heat sensors. A sleeping victim generally will not feel when the bite takes place—both bed bugs and vampires rely heavily on their sneaky prowess to feed undisturbed.
Though Vampires must hide from the sunlight, lest they want to turn to dust – bed bugs avoid the daytime to avoid being detected, thus continuing to wreak silent havoc by continuing to grow in population.
Vampire mythology tells us they can survive for centuries without feeding, unlike our tiny terror in real life — the Bed Bug. They are incredibly opportunistic creatures that will feed on a human host from any exposed areas of flesh until it is complete, then saunter back to its hiding place as it digests.
Finally, just like with vampire myths, people have many (and often conflicting) methods as to how to banish these blood-suckers from their homes and from coming back. However, proven effective treatments are usually narrowed down quickly – besides, who has time to try a million different remedies before things get out of hand?
